Meek But Mighty, 2026
Watercolor, ink, and acrylic on watercolor paper, 12 x 12 in
In collaboration with Roshaun Stephenson, founder, aynoS Records

Ramsey created the cover artwork for Meek But Mighty, a release from aynoS Records, a community-centered archival project founded by Roshaun Stephenson that centers the writing and creative storytelling of women and children impacted by incarceration. The project positions its participants as co-authors rather than subjects, treating lived experience as primary source material that resists the way carceral systems reduce lives to documentation. Ramsey began the work by writing a letter in response to the participant’s writing, and the cover grew out of that exchange. Her painting depicts a young girl with eyes closed, hands in prayer, and chin raised, meek but mighty. Georgia wraps around the figure, and the participant’s own words circle the edges, so the cover speaks in her voice as much as Ramsey’s. The collaboration continues Ramsey’s broader inquiry into cultural preservation and who is entrusted to carry a story.
